Welcome to Rock on the Green 2017
The local Rock festival in Taunton, Somerset
Saturday 22nd July 2017 - 5pm til 11:30
St Andrews Green, Cheddon Road, Taunton.
Rock on the Green started in 1990 as an idea to raise funds for local causes and charities that need a little help. Twenty five years later we have raised close to an amazing £100,000 for local benefactors and good causes. We are pleased to have helped many local good causes including the schools, church, scout group, after school clubs, sports teams and individuals that have needed new equipment, urgent repairs or even financial help.
In all but a few years (bad weather) we have managed to make donations of between £3000 to £5000 to one or a number of good causes, in 2016 we helped 10 separate good causes with £500 each.
This year the Rock on the Green committee would like to make a significant contribution to a local good cause, ideally our funding would cover a large percentage of the cost of the item and be something physical that will last for many years which will benefit the maximum amount of people in the St Andrews area.
As a local good cause and a previous beneficiary of Rock on the Green we would like to ask if you have or know of something that meets the outline above, if so we would encourage you to write to the committee and tell about your idea and the approximate cost.
The committee will then consider all applications and select one to be the Rock on the Green 2017 beneficiary, this selection will take place in May so we can include details of the good cause in our advertising, on the website and during the night.
